Capstone
Spring 2021 | Dr. Rebekah Shultz Colby

Believe it or not, you are currently reading the final project for this Capstone course! (Jk you read the homepage...right?) That is, this website serves as a writing portfolio for the Writing Practices minor at the university of Denver. The Capstone class this page showcases revolved around the reflection, editing, and compilation of the Portfolio.

A part of the revising process in the course had us totally revise a past work into a new genre. I chose a research project from Writ 1133. That project can be found on another page here

With the chance to revise, I was finally able to write what I really wanted. To really gripe about what I had originally been thinking about as I had designed that original project. After three long years I wrote an op-ed, part diatribe article that laments the fanfiction to movie pipeline. A trend that started with the infamous 50 Shades of Grey and has continued with the Netflix's teen erotica duology After. You can read that op-ed below.

Taken from Refinery29.com. After was lauded by several media as the 'teenage' Ffity Shades of Grey.
